So what is a corn maze?
Corn mazes are giant puzzles that you walk through. Farms take cornfields
and cut paths into them. But to add more of a challenge there are loops and dead
ends to get you lost. And since the corn is usually taller than you are, it is
easy to get lost. Many times corn mazes are even cut to make the field look like
some type of picture or design.
How do I find a corn maze?
Visit our directory to find one of the hundreds
mazes located around the country. It does not list all existing corn mazes, but
many of the most popular are listed. If you know of a corn maze that is not
listed, you can add one, too!
What kind of person does it take to navigate through a maze?
Mazes can be accomplished by anyone. Both children and children at heart
will love the experience of navigating, getting lost, and finding their way
again. Most mazes will give visitors a map to help them through the maze. Also,
many mazes have extra puzzles within the maze.
What should I take to visit a maze?
Here is a quick checklist of what you may need if you visit a maze.
- Good walking shoes.
- Appropriate clothing. (Remember, you will be walking through a
cornfield.)
- Water. Walking will make you thirsty, especially if it is a hot day.
- Bug spray.
- Sun screen.
- Flashlight, if you will be visiting at night. Some mazes will sell these
also, and others will not even allow visitors after dark. Be sure to check
hours before you go.
- Watch. It is always fun to see how long it takes.
- 2-way radios. Not necessary, but can be fun so your group can split up, or
in case you get split up.
- Food and picnic lunches can make the day extended and more enjoyable.
Again, check on the policies of the farm you are visiting since some will
not allow carry in food. Also, keep the over 21 drinks at home. Mazes are
meant to be family establishments and other visitors want to get the full
experience too.
- A readiness to get lost!!
